Effective date: April 11, 2026 · Last updated: April 11, 2026
Reverse Face is committed to protecting user privacy while cooperating with valid legal processes. These guidelines explain how law enforcement agencies can request information from us and what to expect.
1. Data We May Hold
Depending on a user’s interactions with our Services, we may have access to the following categories of data:
- Account information: Email address, account creation date, Subscription tier.
- Access logs: IP addresses, timestamps, and user-agent strings associated with account activity.
- Search history:Metadata about searches performed (dates, number of results returned). Note: uploaded images are retained for only 24 hours after search completion.
- Search result reports:Report data retained for 90 days or the Subscription duration.
- Payment information: Transaction records (full payment card details are stored by our payment processor, Stripe, and not by Reverse Face).
2. Legal Process Requirements
We require valid legal process to disclose user data:
| Data Type | Minimum Legal Process |
|---|---|
| Basic subscriber information | Valid subpoena, court order, or search warrant |
| Access logs & IP records | Court order per 18 U.S.C. § 2703(d) or search warrant |
| Search content & reports | Search warrant |
We evaluate each request on a case-by-case basis and may challenge overly broad or legally deficient requests.
3. How to Submit a Request
Requests from law enforcement should be submitted in writing and include:
- The requesting agency’s name and badge/ID number.
- A valid email address on an official government domain.
- A description of the information sought.
- The legal authority (e.g., court order, warrant) attached as a signed document.

Unless prohibited by law or court order, we will make reasonable efforts to notify the affected user before disclosing their data so they have the opportunity to seek legal protection.
5. Emergency Requests
In emergency situations involving imminent risk of death or serious physical injury, we may voluntarily disclose user data without a court order at our sole discretion. Emergency requests should be submitted to legal@reverseface.comwith the subject line “EMERGENCY DISCLOSURE REQUEST” and include a detailed description of the circumstances.
6. Preservation Requests
We will preserve account records for 90 days upon receipt of a valid preservation request from law enforcement. Preservation requests must be submitted in writing and include the specific user accounts and data types to be preserved.

International law enforcement agencies should submit requests through established mutual legal assistance channels (e.g., MLAT) or other applicable international agreements. We may accept direct requests from non-U.S. agencies in exigent circumstances.
8. Transparency
We intend to publish a transparency report summarizing the volume and type of law enforcement requests received. This report will be published annually and will not include information that could compromise ongoing investigations.
